M-Health and its advantages

  What is mobile healthcare(m-healthcare)? mHealth (mobile health) is a general term for the use of mobile phones and other  wireless  technology in medical care. The most common application of mHealth is the use of mobile devices to educate consumers about  preventive healthcare services . However, mHealth is also used for disease surveillance, treatment support, epidemic outbreak tracking and chronic disease management. While there is no standardized definition for mHealth, we can gain a better understanding of the term and what it encompasses by looking at some widely cited and recognized definitions.   Here is a look at the 10 items that the guidelines outline as items that designers need to consider when trying to meet the five key principles associated with usability: Visual design.  Apps should promote legibility, clarity of content, and user engagement without unnecessary distraction. Readability.  The text should be readable, understandable, and adjustable, without altering the screen layout in a way that would confuse users or make it hard to use. App navigation.  Users should be able to go between screens quickly and easily to complete tasks. Onboarding.  Launching, registering, entering personal information, and preparing an app for first-time use should be an intuitive process.   Disadvantages of mHealth Health  apps may breach the user’s health information as not all apps are compliant with health insurance portability and accountability Act but even major is that the information provided may not be accurate and users may be misled in not seeking actual medical care.

  1.   Remote Patient Monitoring Remote patient monitoring is the use of devices to capture patient data at one location and then transmit it electronically to healthcare professionals at a different location. These professionals can then review the data and make treatment decisions. As the Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP)  notes , remote patient monitoring programs can collect a range of health data, including patient vital signs, weight, blood pressure, blood sugar, and heart rate.
